Students can learn how to manage the buying, selling and manufacturing of goods by getting a degree in supply chain and operations management. During their time in school, students can expect to learn a great deal about business and finance. Core course work might focus on data analysis, global supply chain management, manufacturing control and planning, business strategy, distribution fulfillment and strategic sourcing. What Can I Do With a Supply Chain and Operations Management Degree?

Most graduates of a supply chain and operations management program go on to work in businesses and factories. These jobs require taking inventory of warehouse levels, working with vendors and supervising employees. Those with accordant experience and education could become chief operating officers, responsible for monitoring the state of a business across the board. Competition for top positions could be fairly strong so those with more education and experience will have an advantage. The salary for graduates of this degree program vary widely, with entry level positions earning $30,000 to $40,000 a year and high-end executive positions topping six figures.
