New Hampshire is a scenic state in the New England region of Northeastern America. New Hampshire ranked 1st on the Most Livable States in 2010 for the fifth consecutive year. The leading industry in New Hampshire is retail trade, followed closely by health care. Manufacturing is also a key contributor to New Hampshire's economy, thanks to abundant water power that transformed the state into an industrial center early on. Education and food services are also principal sources of income. Students and prospective workers in this state should consider management, business administration, and human resource in their academic pursuits. Health professionals with nursing and medicine backgrounds are also welcome in New Hampshire.

This state has a highly educated and competitive populace. In 2008, New Hampshire tied with Massachusetts as having the highest scores on the SAT and ACT tests. New Hampshire is home to many acclaimed colleges and universities. One of the largest schools in the state is University of New Hampshire, with a 2011 undergraduate enrollment of 12,591. University of New Hampshire, a public institution founded in 1866. It was ranked among the "Best National Universities" in the 2011 Best Colleges edition of U.S. News & World Report. Other notable schools in the state are Dartmouth University and Southern New Hampshire University.
