Accounting students will be introduced to the fundamentals of accounting. Common courses include microeconomics, macroeconomics, and intermediate algebra. In addition, students may take courses to study accounting in different applications, such as financial accounting, managerial accounting, and cost accounting. These classes focus on the application of accounting principles behind preparing and examining financial records to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Business Administration students will gain an understanding of general business principles and practices. Common courses include Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, and Finance. In addition, students may take classes to study different areas within the field, such as Human Resource Management, Managerial Accounting, and Marketing. These classes focus on real-world management responsibilities and prepare students to apply critical thinking skills to their business field of choice.
Entrepreneurship students receive training that may enable them to develop a business and marketing plan, build social media campaigns, and more. Courses may include Entrepreneurship, Business Innovation, Funding a New Business, Evaluating Business Opportunities, and Sales and Marketing for New Business Ventures.
Hospitality Management students will gain an understanding of hospitality through foundations of business and managerial education, learning best practices for service at hotels, casinos, resorts and spas. Common courses include Marketing Principles, Introduction to Financial Accounting, and Introduction to Hospitality Management. students learn strategies for providing professional, memorable service both directly to customers and behind the scenes.
Human Resources students will be introduced to the principles of staffing management, including recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and training. Common courses include Introduction to English Composition, Employment Law, and Compensation and Benefits Strategies. Student also study the fundamental concepts of business, law, management, and accounting in order to apply them to relationships with employees.
Management This degree will prepare students for entry-level business and nonprofit positions. Common classes include Introduction to Accounting, Management Principles, Business Law, and Introduction to Marketing. students will learn the basics of business operations, office management, growing a business, and implementing marketing strategies. They will also learn to develop their decision-making and leadership skills.
Management Information Systems This degree prepares students for entry-level positions in business and the technology industry. The coursework commonly includes learning about computer information systems, database design, maintenance and analysis, and internet applications. students will learn how to organize, maintain, filter, and analyze large quantities of data. They will also learn how to use data to better support business decisions.
Marketing students will learn the basics of identifying potential customers; creating print, social, and other media marketing strategies in alignment with organizational objectives; and using data to measure performance. Additionally, students will learn the legal and ethical concerns and regulations involved in marketing. Common classes include Introduction to Marketing, Consumer Behavior, Public Relations, and Micro- and Macroeconomics.
Retail & Sales Management students learn the skills necessary for successful careers in the growing fields of retail, customer service, and sales. This includes the principles of supply and demand, interpersonal communication, market analysis, merchandising, and advertising, among others. These programs typically require courses like Fundamentals of Retail Marketing, Introduction to Merchandising, and Retail Personnel Management.
Small Business students will learn the fundamentals of business planning, entrepreneurship, innovation, and business management by applying these skills to classroom-based projects and real-world settings. Within most of these programs, students are required to take courses like Introduction to Communication, Fundamentals of Human Resource Management, Advanced Sales and Marketing, and Small Business Management.
